Café Calibre began with an idea in 2020, shared by brothers-in-law Messi and Sam. Like many good ideas, it was shaped during uncertain times, driven by a simple goal to create a café built on quality, consistency, and genuine hospitality.

That idea came to life in February 2021, when Café Calibre opened its doors in Dulwich Hill. Starting a new business during challenging times was never easy, but it helped define who we are. We learned quickly, adapted constantly, and stayed focused on doing the basics well. Good coffee, honest food, and a welcoming space for the local community.

As the café grew, so did our connection with our customers. Listening to feedback and understanding what people truly enjoyed led us deeper into coffee itself. This journey naturally evolved into roasting our own beans, tailored to our customers’ tastes. What started as an extension of our café soon became Calibre Coffee Roasters, now supplying coffee not only to Café Calibre locations but to other cafés as well.

Four years on, Café Calibre expanded with the opening of our Macquarie Park location. This next chapter brought new energy, new customers, and reaffirmed that the foundations built in Dulwich Hill were strong. Seeing the brand grow beyond its original home has been both rewarding and humbling.

None of this would be possible without the support of our customers, our team, and the communities that continue to support us. Every coffee poured and every meal served has played a part in shaping the journey so far.

And this is only the beginning. Café Calibre is not stopping here. With more plans ahead and new opportunities on the horizon, the story continues, and we look forward to sharing the next chapters with you.
